Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VeriLend ("VeriLend," "we," "us") handles personal information when you use the VeriLend platform (the "Service"). VeriLend is a document management and loan-support tool. VeriLend does not make lending decisions, does not act as a broker, and does not sell personal information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the Service:
- Identity data — name, email address, and account credentials created during sign-up or provided by your authentication provider (e.g., Google).
- Loan and financial information — loan type, amount requested, purpose, and information you enter to describe your application.
- Uploaded documents — files you upload to satisfy a lender's checklist (for example, pay stubs, tax forms, bank statements, or identification documents).
- Credit information — credit scores, tradelines, disputes, and related data you provide or that you authorize us to pull on your behalf through a credit report.
- Communications — in-app messages exchanged between borrowers and lenders, plus support requests.
- Technical data — device, browser, and log information required to operate the Service and diagnose errors.
2. Why We Collect It
- To create and manage your account.
- To help borrowers build a complete loan application package.
- To help lenders review documents that borrowers have shared with them.
- To validate uploaded documents (for example, using automated quality checks).
- To provide customer support and to fix bugs.
- To meet legal, regulatory, and security obligations.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") applies, we rely on: (a) your consent for optional processing such as pulling a credit report; (b) performance of a contract to provide the Service; (c) compliance with a legal obligation; and (d) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service.
4. How Information Is Shared
- With lenders you choose. Documents and application data become visible only to the specific lender assigned to your loan (or to unclaimed lenders once you submit an application, per the platform's role-based access controls).
- With service providers. Infrastructure providers who host the Service and process data under written contracts (see the app-store disclosures for the current list).
- For legal reasons. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Data Retention
See our Data Retention Policy for full details. In summary, uploaded documents are retained while your loan is active and for a limited period after closure to satisfy lender recordkeeping obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
6. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict our use of your information; to opt out of certain processing; and to withdraw consent at any time. See our User Rights Policy.
Request My Data
Email privacy@verilend.app from the address on file with the subject line "Data Access Request." We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days (or 45 days for California residents, as permitted by the CCPA).
Delete My Data
You can request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@verilend.app with the subject line "Delete My Data." We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete verified requests within 30 days, subject to legal-retention exceptions described in the Data Retention Policy.
7. GDPR (EU/UK) Disclosures
EU/UK residents may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority and may request international-transfer safeguards for any processing that occurs outside their region. Contact privacy@verilend.app.
8. CCPA/CPRA (California) Disclosures
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. VeriLend does not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
9. COPPA (Children Under 13)
VeriLend is not intended for and is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
10. Security
See our Security Policy for the controls we require, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, and multi-factor authentication.
11. Changes to This Policy
We will post material changes to this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
