Financial Compliance

Last updated: July 17, 2026

VeriLend supports borrowers and lenders in managing loan documents. VeriLend is not a consumer reporting agency, a creditor, or a broker. The disclosures below explain how VeriLend supports compliance with federal financial-consumer statutes when the Service is used as intended.

1. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)

Any credit-related information available in the Service is provided for the borrower's informational use. VeriLend is not a "consumer reporting agency" as defined by 15 U.S.C. § 1681a. VeriLend does not furnish consumer reports to lenders. Lenders that obtain consumer reports must do so through their own permissible-purpose relationships with consumer reporting agencies and are responsible for FCRA-compliant adverse-action notices.

2. Truth in Lending Act (TILA)

VeriLend does not extend credit and does not originate consumer loans. TILA disclosures (APR, finance charges, payment schedule, right to cancel) are the responsibility of the lender that offers credit to the borrower. VeriLend displays only information the lender or borrower provides; borrowers should rely on official lender disclosures before signing any loan document.

3. Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA)

Lenders using VeriLend must comply with ECOA (15 U.S.C. § 1691 et seq.) and Regulation B, including prohibitions on discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age, receipt of public assistance, or the good-faith exercise of rights under the Consumer Credit Protection Act. VeriLend does not require borrowers to disclose protected characteristics, and lenders are prohibited from using the Service's messaging or notes features to solicit or record such information for credit decisions.

4. Consent to Upload Documents and Share Data

When you upload a document or attach it to a loan application, you consent to:

  • Storage of that document in VeriLend's secure document vault.
  • Automated quality and content checks (for example, verifying that a page is legible and matches the requested document type).
  • Sharing the document with the specific lender you assign to the loan application, for the sole purpose of reviewing your application.

5. Consent to Credit Information

If you run a credit check through VeriLend, you authorize the Service to record the credit report result and to display it to the lender you assign to your loan. You represent that you are the individual to whom the credit report pertains.

6. Revocation of Consent

You may revoke any of the consents above at any time by:

  1. Removing the document from your loan application in the Service, or
  2. Emailing privacy@verilend.app with the subject "Revoke Consent" and identifying the loan or data involved.

Revocation is prospective: it does not affect processing that already occurred, and it does not require a lender to return or destroy copies the lender retained under its own recordkeeping obligations.

7. Lender Responsibilities

Lenders using VeriLend agree to:

  • Access only loan applications assigned to them or unassigned applications they are reviewing in good faith.
  • Use borrower data only for the purpose of reviewing the specific loan application to which it is attached.
  • Comply with FCRA, ECOA, TILA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, state licensing, and all other applicable laws.
  • Issue any required adverse-action or counter-offer notices directly to the borrower.
  • Not export borrower data for marketing, resale, or unrelated purposes.
  • Report suspected fraud or misuse to security@verilend.app.

8. No Financial Advice

Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, legal, tax, or credit-repair advice. Suggestions displayed in the credit-repair or credit-build sections are informational only and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
